Frequently Asked Questions

常见问题

What are the tutors’ qualifications and experience?

Our teachers at Candy Tree are former MOE teachers, MOE-registered instructors, and specialists in the MOE syllabus. They are highly experienced, bilingual educators with advanced degrees and a deep understanding of the latest curriculum.

What makes Candy Tree different from other Chinese language centres?

The key distinction between Candy Tree and other tuition centres lies in our extensive teaching experience. Our team of educators holds official Ministry of Education (MOE) qualifications and possesses in-depth knowledge of the latest education system and exam requirements. This expertise enables us to accurately identify key course content, adapt teaching materials promptly, and bridge learning gaps that students may have missed or not fully understood in school.

At Candy Tree, we emphasize a strong foundation in understanding and practice. Through flexible teaching methods and structured writing exercises, we cultivate students' logical thinking, communication, and writing skills, ensuring they excel in both their studies and future examinations. We also prioritize building strong relationships with parents, as we believe that collaboration and timely feedback are essential to supporting students’ academic growth and success.

What is the class size?

Our class size typically ranges from 6 to 8 students. We keep our classes small to ensure personalized attention and quality feedback for every student. With a low tutor-student ratio, our tutors can better cater to individual learning needs.

Do you offer trial classes?

Yes, we offer free trial classes during promotional periods. Otherwise, trial classes may be arranged with per lesson cost. Please contact us to check availability of the trial class.

How do I register for a class?

How do you measure my child’s progress?

We conduct in-house assessments to evaluate students’ progress in reading, writing, oral communication, and comprehension. Our teachers also maintain regular communication with parents to provide updates and guidance.

How are the classes scheduled?

Our class schedules vary by program and level, including both weekday and weekend options. Please contact us for the latest schedule.

Can I switch courses or change my class schedule?

Course or schedule changes are subject to availability and our centre’s policies. Please contact us as soon as you have such a need, and we will do our best to accommodate your request

What is the make-up lesson policy?

If your child is unable to attend a class, parents must contact us to arrange a replacement lesson. The replacement can be scheduled within the same week at any Candy Tree centre. If no suitable class is available, we offer a one-on-one make-up session lasting between 30 minutes and 1 hour. Each student is entitled to a maximum of two make-up lessons per term. Make-up lessons are only permitted for important events or medical reasons, with a valid medical certificate. If a make-up class cannot be arranged, we will provide worksheets as an alternative.

What are the course fees and how are tuition fees paid?

Course fees vary depending on the program. For detailed pricing, please do not hesitate to reach out to us from contact page.

Tuition fees are paid termly. If a student joins mid-term, fees will be pro-rated accordingly. We only accept bank transfers or PAYNOW, cash payments are not accepted.

Any course fees paid are not refundable.
